Well, wasn’t that a brilliant weekend of gymnastics – and fundraising?

The Festival of Gymnastics allowed us to get parents and gymnasts in the gym in Gwernaffield for the first time following the easing of restrictions.

The gymnasts got to show off their skills, including new moves, and to see others from the different classes – some for the first time.

Some parents have never been inside the Gwernaffield gym despite their children being members of the club for more than year.

So thank you to everyone who joined us.

We also hope you all got the chance to find out more about our plans for the gym extension.

We have to say a big thank you to Becca and the fundraising team for giving their time over the weekend as well as our coaches, and to everyone who looked after the stalls, served coffee, tea and cakes and erected the gazebo – twice!

It was a great start to our fundraising appeal, 50k for 50 Years, and we’ll let you know how much the weekend raised when we have a final figure.

Watch: It’s the pits!

Here’s a l👀k at how the gym could look if we achieve our plans to add new facilities, including pits, at our unit at Gwernaffield in time for our 50th anniversay in 2024.

Nothing is set in stone yet but, from these visualisations, you can get a sense of the additional facilities we hope to add in a new extension.

A big part of the extension will be pits – a crucial component if we are to help gymnasts take their skills to new levels.

But our plans depend on us raising £50,000 – and this is why we have launched the 50k for 50 Years appeal in time for 2024.

We hope you can help us by getting involved in our fundraising activities.

Bye for now 😁

50 Miles in 50 Days – sponsor form

We are planning to raise £50,000 before our 50th Anniversary in 2024 to extend our gym with new pits.

And we are going to start our campaign with a Festival of Gymnastics over the weekend of 11-12 September.

We are challenging our gymnasts to walk 50 miles in 50 days between 12 September 2021 and the 31 October 2021.

Anyone raising more than £50 will be invited to a free Sunday training session.

For our youngest gymnasts, we will be encouraging them to walk five miles in those 50 days.

  • Here is a link to download our sponsor form for the gymnasts to use.

You will be invited to track their walks online via Strava – in our club area – and there will be weekly updates and prizes along the way.

Thanks in advance for all the help.
