‘Great job girls’

Well done to these young ladies in the Out of Age Level 4 Competition in Cardiff on Saturday, writes head coach Ceri.

Much improved performances to the North Area Competition a few weeks ago and testament to the hard work they’ve put in.

Zara, Evie, Megan and Zara’s team placed 4th against tough opposition and a special mention to Evie who smashed her routine to place third on beam after a scary fall on bar.

Great job girls and thanks to the coaches and parents for your support.

We’re supporting Parents in Sports Week. which is run by the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit from 1 October, as it highlights the benefits of parents getting involved in their children’s sporting activities, writes welfare officer Alison.

There is some helpful information online from the campaign, including some videos, which shows how supporting our children in their training can really help them to enjoy their sport more and progress.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents who support the girls and help our club to help them thrive.

Myself and Kristy are the club’s welfare officers and we’re here to provide support for gymnasts, parents and coaches, so feel free to get in touch at any time.

Halloween fun and games

Prize pumpkin Halloween fun and film night is held on Saturday 27 October 18.00-21.00 at Gwernaffield Gym.

It’s open to gymnasts age 5 and over and it costs £5 each. Please book and pay for a ticket by following this link.

Come in fancy dress, bring a pumpkin (electric tea lights only) and something to sit on. We’ll have lots of Halloween fun and games in our spooky gym.

Pre-school Halloween Party

Wednesday 31 October, 14.45– 16.15pm at Gwernaffield Gym.

Come and have some Halloween fun and games in our spooky gym.

£4 per gymnast, pay on the door. Fancy dress welcome.

Clothing collection appeal returns

We’re starting another clothes recycling fundraiser this week – back by popular demand, writes coach Becca.

We’re working with Roberts Recycling after our last successful collection netted 561kg in clothing worth £252 to our ongoing fundraising appeal.

Gymnasts in all classes will be given a bag to fill. Once they are full, any clean plastic bag can be used. Ask your family and friends to donate too. Please see the image for the items that are acceptable.

Bags need to be returned to the Gwernaffield gym by Saturday 6 October or to the Pre-school classes on Saturday 6 October and we will take them to Gwernaffield.
