Advanced class gymnasts came away with individual and team medals at Friday night’s North Area Levels competition at Deeside.
Level 4 aged 11/12 Team Champions were Evie Landon, Megan Phillips, Zara Evans-McVeigh and Zara Roberts.
Level 3 14+ Teams Champions were Abi Hogg, Amelia Bourne and Bella Bailey.
Head coach Ceri Sass said: “Thanks to the coaches for preparing the gymnasts for the competition, help on the day and judging.”
Club coaches and gymnasts Jo, Tara, Betty, P and Hannah did themselves and the club proud by winning the women’s artistic gymnastics team gold medal thanks to their amazing performances over the weekend at the Adult Gymnastics British Championships.
On Saturday, Jo came first in the over 30s novice category with Tara also winning first in the over 18s novice category and Hannah came third in the same category.
On Sunday, Betty came second in the over 18s intermediate category, a year after she won the novice category, and P also came fourth.
They were helped by Mr Buckley and Ceri over the weekend, and they were cheered on by friends from the club.
Good luck to our coaches who are competing in the Adult Gymnastics British Championships over the weekend.
They will be assisted during their competitions on Saturday and Sunday by coaching director Stan Buckley, who was their coach when they began training as gymnasts.
All classes at Gwernaffield and Buckley are cancelled on Saturday 25 August to allow coaches to compete.
Club members can cheer them on at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.

The grand prize draw raised just over £2,800 to boost club funds with winners announced at Sunday’s summer fair.
A massive thank you to everyone who donated prizes, sold tickets to their friends and families and helped out selling tickets at Mold Market.
