Thanks to the success of Club Champs last month and Christmas film night we have tipped the fundraising total over £10,000 for our 50k for 50 years campaign.
Thanks to coach Becca and members of the fundraising team who have helped us to achieve this amazing amount in a short space of time.
Congratulations to Daisy, Gwennan and Loni who have been selected for the North Area squad.
The girls all train in the Advanced class and trialled a few weeks ago.
The squad will attend training sessions once a month at clubs across North Wales.
Well done girls and coaches.
Two new captains have been selected for the club.
Emilia has been at Buckley Gymnastics Club since 2018 and has represented the club on numerous occasions.
Joshua started in Preschool at three years old and he trains in the Advanced class.
Emilia, who is also an Advanced class gymnast, has completed her Level 1 coaching course and helps in three other club sessions. She is also studying for her A levels.
“I feel really honoured to be trusted as club captain,” she said.
“I’d like to thank all the coaches and everybody working at Buckley Gymnastics Club. This club is like my family.
“While I’ve not been in the club as long as many other gymnasts, Buckley has always been so welcoming to me and all other gymnasts, and I am proud to be a part of this club.
“I will forever be a Buckley girl and I hope I can show this through my role as club captain.”
Joshua said said he was “very happy and grateful to have been chosen”.
“I love gymnastics and I really enjoy being part of the Buckley team,” he said.
“Thank you to my coaches and teammates for always making each session fun.”
The coaching team have explained why the pair were selected.
Shelley said: “Emilia is a pleasure to have in the gym and is a great role model for our younger gymnasts.”
Lynsey said: “Josh is not only a fantastic gymnast, but he is also polite, hard working, dedicated and committed to improving himself and others around him.
“He is a delight to have in our club and is a fantastic role model for the other boys.”
