40th anniversary gala practise sessions

Preparations for our 40th anniversary gala begin on Monday 14 July.

  • Beginners: Can come to any/all of the Beginners sessions, Monday/Friday 5-6 and Saturday, 12-1.
  • Novice and intermediates*: Tuesdays 5.30-7.15, Saturdays 11.30-1.30

* Novice and Intermediate gymnasts not in the gala will train from 9.30-11.30 on a Saturday until after the anniversary celebrations.

Team Wales gymnasts picked for Commonwealth Games

Team Wales has selected a 13-strong squad of gymnasts to compete in the women’s and men’s artistic and rhythmic gymnastics events at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, according to the Welsh Gymnastics website.

Among them is rhythmic gymnast Frankie Jones who won a silver at the Delhi Games in 2010.

Swansea’s Nikara Jenkins and British champion Laura Halford will be vying with her for medals individually, as well as competing together in the team event, says BBC Sport.

Sport Wales hope to win three medals in gymnastics at the Glasgow Games.
