Well done to all 33 Buckley gymnasts who competed in the three-day competition at Deeside which ended on Sunday.
Coaches praised the efforts of all the girls with lots of trophies and ribbons and some earned themselves places in competition finals in Cardiff following the results in the Welsh Gymnastics North Area Level 6 Novice and Level 5 Intermediate competition.
In the last round on Sunday, Lottie, Jeada and Lucy performed well, according to coach Shelley, along with other girls carrying off medals, including Sophie, Tegan, Emilia and Niamh to win first place in the team competition.
Coach Tara praised her team’s efforts with Ellie and Mia also winning medals.
Tara said she was “really proud”, adding that while there were a “few mishaps” competitions were a “learning curve”.
For some of the girls it was their first big competition and others performed four pieces for the first time too.
Coach Emily said she was “proud” as her team came 4th overall with Sophie, Loni, Amber, Ava and Olivia having a good competition.
Coach P said her and Tara’s group were “absolutely amazing” winning first place in the team competition.
On Saturday, Olivia, Cara, Abigail, Mia, Beanie and Maisie impressed the judges with Issy coming fourth overall. In the afternoon, Jessie, Hannah Lucy B and Keria also competed. Team A came 4th with Team B 8th in the Level 6, 9 years competition.
The competition began on Friday with Charlotte and Lydia the first to show off the club’s new competition leotards and they “performed beautifully”, according to Shelley, coming overall fourth and eighth respectively.
Coaches also performed the honours helping to run the competition.
The girls heading to Cardiff for the finals are:

- L6, aged 12+ – Niamh, Emilia, Sophie and Tegan
- L5, aged 8/9 – Macey and Aiyla
- L5, aged 10/11 – Mia
- L5, aged 12+ – Charlotte
