Angel of the North competition success

Intermediate and Advanced class gymnasts took part in the Angel of the North Competition at the City Of Liverpool Gym Club over the weekend.

They competed in three different sessions and the first up were Intermediates.

Niamh placed 3rd overall in regional grade 4 aged 12+ and Emilia was 6th overall with Jessie-Rose placing 8th overall in the regional grade 4 – 11 years.

The second group were Advanced gymnasts Amelia, Bella and Big Zara with “clean routines”,

Coach Ceri said: “Bella did brilliantly to compete two pieces having picked up an injury two weeks ago.”

Zara and Amelia received apparatus awards with Amelia placing 8th overall.

The final group to compete was Advanced girls Little Zara, Megan and Lydia, National 4 gymnasts, who all received apparatus certificates.

Ceri said “they did fab” ahead of their grades in four weeks’ time.

“Well done to all of the gymnasts this weekend and to the coaches and judges for their hard work,” she added.

Thanks to Emily, Shelley and Bethany for judging and helping out.

And well done to Bethany who won a “special” award as a best dressed judge, as the day had a Hollywood theme.
