We’ve received the following message from organisers of the Aviva Community Fund to say that whilst we have not been successful in our bid to receive a significant boost to our funds, they have awarded us £500. Here is their email…
“Thank you for taking part in the Aviva Community Fund 2016.
“We want to take a moment to thank you for all the hard work you put in getting your project through to the finals.
“We’re sorry to tell you that the judges haven’t chosen your project to receive funding. As you can imagine, it was a hard decision, with many worthwhile projects to choose from.
“However, to recognise your achievement in reaching the finals, we’re going to donate £500 to your project.
“We hope that by getting involved with the Aviva Community Fund, more people in your community are now aware of the great work you do.”
Vice chairwoman Sarah writes: “Obviously we are disappointed, but we are so very grateful for the support of each and everyone of you who voted and then went on to get many more votes from your family, friends and colleagues.
“We are an amazing club held together by wonderful members and we have shown what we can achieve by becoming a finalist. It’s such a shame that we didn’t win. So to you all – THANK YOU and onward and upwards!”
