We need more votes…

Well, voting has now opened and although we have received over 4,400 votes since Friday – we still need more if we are to stand a chance.

Please, please support our grant application

We have recently been approved to apply for a grant from the Aviva Community Fund and have the opportunity to receive £5,000-£10,000, writes Sarah Carr, club vice chairwoman.

In order to be in the final judging for the grant, we need a massive amount of support from you and all your families, friends and colleagues.

You need to VOTE to support our application

In order to do this you will need to register to vote on the Aviva Community Fund page.

Then, once you have confirmed your email address, you will be able to use a special link in order to VOTE when voting starts from Friday.

EACH REGISTERED PERSON GETS 10 VOTES EACH

We need many votes. Another gym which was awarded a grant previously had almost 6,000 votes.

  • VOTING OPENS 21 OCT and CLOSES 18 NOV
  • WE WILL ONLY BE IN THE FINAL JUDGING ROUND IF EVERYBODY GETS BEHIND THIS AND WE GET MAXIMUM VOTES

So you can vote, your family members can vote, your friends can vote, your neighbours and work colleagues can vote, your hairdresser and your babysitter can vote, your friends on Facebook can vote – everybody you can think of (yes, you got it), can vote!

This is a great opportunity for us to get the much-needed funds to buy new equipment for our new gym.

Please, please, please get behind this and give our gym the best chance.

Look out for further information to follow over the next few days.

Thank you

What a winning weekend

Last weekend saw gymnasts travel to Cardiff and Wiltshire for separate competitions…

Nine gymnasts went to Melksham in Wiltshire for the Quatro Cup.  This is the first time the club have entered this competition which runs over three days and was attended by clubs all over Great Britain, writes coaches Ceri and Tara.

Saturday: Olivia Blanchard, Rosie Parsley, Ava Green and Macey Jones competed in the 7 Years competition.

The standard was very high with gymnasts on the Welsh Squad also competing.

Our girls did very well performing and competing new moves successfully for the first time.

Although there were no medals this time, they gained valuable competition experience and enjoyed the event.

Sunday: Abi Hogg, Elise LaFlamme, Isabella Roberts, Amelia Bourne and Bella Bailey competed in the Level 4, 12+ competition.

The girls competed exceptionally well against a tough field.

Clean routines and expressive performances earned a collection of individual apparatus certificates and paid off in the All Around and Team Competition.

Isabella Roberts was crowned overall champion with Amelia Bourne placing 3rd and Bella Bailey 4th.

The girls were then announced as team champions.

Amelia was also given an Artistry Award for her floor routine – one of only a handful given out over the three days.

All gymnasts have done themselves and the club proud and as coaches we are really pleased and proud of them.

Thank you to all the coaches who have had an input in their training and Danielle for judging all weekend for the club.

Zara Evans McVeigh, Zara Roberts and Neve LaFlamme

Meanwhile, in Cardiff  we had Neve LaFlamme, Zara Roberts and Zara Evans McVeigh competing in the Level 5 Welsh Finals.

Zara Roberts’s team finished in 3rd place and Neve and Zara’s team placed 4th.

Thanks to coach Bob for supporting the girls on the day.
