Emilia

General Gym class 1: Emilia

Coach comments: For super listening, always trying her best and attending regularly.

Phoebe

General Gym class 2: Phoebe

Coach comments: Phoebe has impressed all the coaches and young leaders this month with an excellent performance in the Buckley competition, a great attitude to training and a beaming smile in every session.

Jennifer

Development class: Jennifer

Coach comments: Jennifer has impressed us all this month with new moves, a fab attitude and great focus in class as well as a medal and ribbon in the Buckley competition last month. A well deserved award for you.

Hannah

Intermediate class: Hannah

Coach comments: Hannah recently suffered an injury but is back to full training and has conquered her fear with her flick.

Amelia

Advanced class: Amelia

Coach comments: Amelia is suffering from an ongoing injury but attends every session and works 100% at what she can do. July has seen some small breakthroughs and, hopefully, she will be completely fit soon and ready to compete again.

Pre-school gymnasts: Move of the month

Getting into splits position, part 2 We’re starting a new section on the website designed to help Pre-school gymnasts to develop their skills at home.

The feature will be called ‘move of the month’ with advice showing how parents can help the gymnast.

Coach Becca said: “By the gymnasts working moves at home we will be able to progress more quickly in class and they will get more out of the sessions.

“We will be posting a new move each month and it will correspond to a move that we are covering in the lesson plan that month.

“The intention is to cover the basics of a move which the gymnasts should be able to do on their own. It is just a question of them being prompted to try.”

Becca said she welcomes feedback from parents to improve this new idea.

The first ‘move of the month’ will be published shortly.

Betty is tops at Adult Gymnastics British Championship

Congratulations to coach Betty who came first overall in her four-piece competition at the Adult Gymnastics British Championships on Saturday.

The two-day event at Lilleshall National Sports and Conferencing Centre, Newport, is open to gymnasts aged 18 and over.

Competitors from around the UK are taking part in artistic gymnastics along with trampolining, tumbling and an acro competition.

Coaches and gymnasts from Buckley Girls Gymnastics Club were at Lilleshall to cheer on Betty as she competed in the women’s artistic competition against about 40 competitors.
