Fantastic results in Cardiff yesterday where Aiyla, Mia, Zara R, Evie, Megan, Zara EM and Bella competed in the in and out of age levels, writes coach Danielle.

Voluntary Level 4 – In Age
Aiyla – 2nd on Vault and 6th on Bars

Voluntary Level 4 – 11/12 years
Well done to Mia and Zara R for a good performance against tough competition.

Voluntary Level 4 – 13+ years
Zara EM – 4th on Bars, 3rd on Beam and 3rd Overall
Evie – 2nd on Bars and 4th Overall
Megan – 6th on Beam, 2nd on Floor

Zara, Evie and Megan also won 1st place in the team competition.

Voluntary Level 3 – 14+ years
Bella – 6th on Beam and 3rd on Floor

Well done girls!

Recycling clothes for cash

Our fundraising appeal for old clothes is back!

Items need to be with us by Saturday 28 September. We can only take re-saleable items – see chart opposite. Please tidy out your wardrobes and get your families and friends to join in too.

Our last appeal in January led to 274kg in old clothes being donated. It helped us to raise £174.

North area competition winners

Great start to the competition season last night in Deeside where the gymnasts picked up loads of medals and trophies at the North Area In and Out of Age Levels, writes head coach Danielle.

Level 3 – 14+ years
Bella – 3rd Vault, 1st Bars, 3rd Beam, 2nd Floor and 2nd Overall

In Age Voluntary Level 4
Aiyla – 1st Vault, 2nd Bar, 2nd Beam, 1st Floor and 2nd Overall

Level 4 – 11-12 years
Zara R – 1st Bar, Joint 1st Beam and 3rd Overall
Mia – Joint 1st Beam and 5th Overall
Both Zara and Mia competed their giants for the very first time as well – amazing girls!

Level 4 – 13+ years
Zara EM – 1st Bars, 1st Beam and 1st Overall
Evie – 2nd Bars, 2nd Beam and 2nd Overall
Megan – 3rd Bars, 3rd Beam and 3rd Overall
The team also placed 1st overall

What a winning weekend!

It’s been a medal filled weekend at the Adult Gymnastics British Championships in Lilleshall.

We had two teams made up of seven ladies:

Team 1: coaches Jo and Patricia with adult gymnast member Amy.

Team 2: Coaches Becca and Betty, coach Hannah from neighbouring club Grays Gymnastics with adult gymnast member Hannah.

Saturday’s competition was Jo and Amy in the over 30’s category followed by Becca and coach Hannah.

Becca gained a 3rd place bronze medal in the newbie over 45 category and Hannah was the gold medalist in the novice over 18 category.

Sunday’s competition in the morning was Betty and Patricia both in the Intermediate category with Betty finishing 2nd place overall, Patricia was 4th.

Finishing the day was Hannah in the Pro over 45 category receiving the 1st place gold medal.

Team 2 finished 3rd place overall.

Thank you to coach Danielle for supporting the gymnasts all weekend and to everyone who travelled to support them.
