Buckley girls who competed in Wrexham

Novice Competition: Lily, Elise and Cerys competed in the North Area Novice Competition which was held as a qualification for the Welsh Novice Finals in Cardiff.

Lily was announced as the Vault, Bar and Overall champion, with Elise finishing as Floor champion and 3rd overall.

The girls competed extremely well with all their scores needing to count towards the team total and their hard work and consistency paid off with them being announced as the 10-11 Team Champions.

Lily and Elise will now travel to Cardiff to compete as part of the North Area Team in the Welsh Novice Finals. Good Luck Girls!

Intermediate Competition: This competition also gave Bella, Amelia and Ffion another chance to gain valuable competition experience after their trip to Swansea.

Again the girls did the club proud, competing really well with Bella finishing as 8-9 Overall Champion and Amelia 2nd Overall.

Ffion also finished 2nd Overall and was the North Area Vault Champion.

The competition took place over two days on 6-7 October.

Annual club championships, leotards and hoodies

Our annual club championships will be held on Saturday 8 December at Buckley Sports Centre.

For girls who do not yet have a club leotard, these are available to order before the competition or as a Christmas present. The cost of the leotards are £37.

The deadline for orders is Saturday 20 October. Please see a class coach for an order slip.

We are also ordering new club hoodies. They will be navy and have Buckley Girls Gymnastics Club on the back.

And, if you would like, a girl’s name can be added to the front in holographic silver print.

The hoodies are priced £15. Please see a class coach for an order slip.

Swansea: Women’s Artistic Age Groups, Challenge Cup and Intermediate Championships

Buckley girls at SwanseaFour girls competed: Elin, Ffion, Bella and Amelia from the advance class.

We all arrived at the hotel in Swansea on Friday evening at around 10pm and headed straight to bed for an early start on Saturday.

[But don’t ask about the predicament when we found we had one room less than was needed – and the hotel was fully booked]

After breakfast we all made our way to City of Swansea Gymnastics Centre where Bella and Amelia were competing first in the 8-9 age.

The girls were a little nervous but excited. Christina was their support for the day and Ceri was judging the bar.

The girls competed in the four apparatus: vault, bar, beam and floor.

Next to compete were our older girls, Elin and Ffion, in the 10-11 age group. The girls also completed the four apparatus and did really well.

What a result: Bella received a silver medal in bar and was placed 6th overall in the competition – well done Bella!
