Get rummaging for our sale!

The next fundraising event for our new gym appeal will be a clothes rummage sale at the gym leisure centre on Saturday 10 October.

There isn’t  long, so please sort out your unwanted clothes! There will be a box in the changing room for the next two Saturdays for you to drop off any unwanted clothes from 9am-4pm.

Please ensure clothes are clean and in good condition. Both adult and children’s clothes would be appreciated.

Can you please separate adult and children clothing and any leotards that can be sold and passed down through the club.

Thanks

Volunteers give up Sunday and raise £280 at car boot sale

A big thank you to Preschool coach and chief fundraiser Becca, hubby Steve, kids Bella, Milly and Lottie and also to Macey and her dad Richard for giving up their Sunday to help boost club funds at a car boot sale in Chirk today.

Their vans were stocked with donated items left over from the garage sale which netted £360 last week and they had great success in raising £280 for our new gym appeal.

The new gym appeal for Buckley Girls’ Gymnastics Club has received a £363.60 boost from half of funds raised at a garage sale.

Long time club supporters Viv and Don Bennion hosted the sale at their home at Llanarmon-yn-Ial, near Mold, with the same amount also being donated to support facilities for children in their village.

The couple’s daughter, Kathy, is a former club gymnast who represented Wales and Great Britain and competed in the Commonwealth Games after joining Buckley in 1981.

Club supporter Steve Bailey, who helped at the garage sale, is seen collecting the cheque on behalf of the club from Mr and Mrs Bennion.

Unsold items, some of which which were donated by parents of gymnasts, were sold at the Sunday car boot sale at Chirk, raising a further £280.

Over £10,000 has been raised this year towards a £25,000 target to allow Buckley Girls’ Gymnastics Club, which has trained at Buckley Leisure Centre for over 40 years, to buy its own facilities.
