We would like to welcome our new team member Lauren Eaton-Jones as a welfare officer.
Lauren will be working alongside Alison, our current welfare officer, to help make sure the gym protects and supports gymnasts and creates a positive environment.
She is mum to Evie who has been with us since Preschool in 2016.
For her day job Lauren is a senior planner. She deals with a lot of policies and procedures which will also be ideal for all safeguarding procedures.
Lauren says: “I’ve wanted to be involved at the gymnastics club at some level and this post appealed to me as I’m always ready to listen and I’m looking forward to getting to know everybody a bit better. When things become more normal I’d like to be a familiar face for our gymnasts, coaches and parents, and will always be approachable and ready to provide support“
Over the past few weeks Lauren has been doing her training, completing the recommended safeguarding and protecting children workshop via Welsh Gymnastics, and also a ‘Time to Listen’ course which helps us to create a child-centred environment.
Both welfare officers can be contacted through the website. They are here to support gymnasts, parents and the coaches.
