Adult gymnastics class – no experience necessary

We are planning to run weekly adult classes and would like to gauge the level of interest.

They would run on Wednesdays from 20:00-21:30pm and the class will cost £7, with a free taster session.

Coach Mr Bob said: “It will be an awesome opportunity for anyone who would like to learn some fun and exciting gymnastics skills in a safe, fun and progressive environment.

“It will be suitable for any level of ability and will be amazing for getting in great shape, improving strength and flexibility.”

Contact us here or via our parents group on Facebook to let us know if you are interested or if you have any questions.

Army of volunteers needed Saturday and Sunday

New gym update: We are now at a stage in the unit where we need of a larger number of volunteers to complete the painting.

A lot of the work has already been achieved by parents who have been volunteering their help on a regular basis. Some of the rooms are smaller, so we were limited to the numbers of workers we could get in each room.

As the contract cleaners have completed the “at height” cleaning in the main gym area, we can now have a larger number of volunteers to continue the painting like yesterday’s successful Day to make a difference.

So, next weekend, we would like to invite as many parents and grown up helpers as possible to complete the painting in the main gym.

We will start on Saturday 18 March at 9am and work until around 4pm. We will continue on Sunday from 10am until we finish.

If you can only spare a few hours, that’s fine. All are welcome, no skills needed – just enthusiasm!

Please bear in mind that this is still a work site and, unfortunately, it is still unsuitable for children.

We do have paint and equipment etc. but, if you wish to bring your own, then please do so.

If you could let us know if you are coming via Facebook, email or the Contact us form, that would be great.

We hope to see you next weekend.

What a ‘day to make a difference’

Special thanks to 30 volunteers from Lloyds Banking Group who spent the day cleaning and painting the new gym.

The company runs a programme called D2MAD (day to make a difference) where staff, like gym club chairwoman Liz, can volunteer for a day to help a good cause in the community.

Liz and colleagues, who work in the operations change department, carried out a number of jobs, including lots of painting and they cleared the rear car park of rubbish and metal.

They managed to put three coats of paint on the walls of the toilets and changing rooms.

And, among other tasks, they painted the rear office and a large area of the new gym, although it will still require further coats of paint, according to Liz.

The volunteers even brought their own paint, cleaning products, rollers, trays and brushes to help with their day’s work – and they also donated money to the club.

Thanks again to all.
