Clothing recycling returns

Items requestedWe’re starting another clothes recycling collection later this month so don’t throw anything away if you’re already thinking about a spring clean.

Gymnasts in all classes will be given a bag to fill. Once they are full, any clean plastic bag can be used. Ask your family and friends to donate too. Please see the image for the items that are acceptable. Thanks.

Happy New Year / Blwyddyn Newydd Dda

We hope you’ve all had a great Christmas and looking forward to restarting gymnastics classes from Wednesday 2 January.

Note: Intermediate class – which usually trains at Buckley on Wednesdays – will be meeting at Gwernaffield at its usual time due to maintenance at Buckley Leisure Centre.

Life-saving equipment appeal

AED logo showing white heart on green backgroundMoney raised from the Winter Extravaganza Raffle will help start our fundraising to have an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the Gwernaffield Gym, writes coach Becca.

A defibrillator is a device that helps someone who is in cardiac arrest.

There are defibrillators at Mold Golf Club and near the Church Hall in Gwernaffield but we know that with every minute of delay in administering defibrillation there is a 10% decrease in survival, according to St John Ambulance.

That is why we want to raise money to have a Community Access Defibrillator on the Gwernaffield site.

To start our fundraising we are asking for donations of National Lottery Scratchcards to put on ‘scratchcard Christmas trees’ to raffle at the Winter Extravaganza.

If you would like to donate directly towards our fundraising for this device, please contact Becca Bailey via Facebook.
