Some of the girls, coaches and families of Buckley Girls Gymnastics Club are running the Flintshire 3k or 10k on 13 October 2013 in support of Nightingale House Hospice which cared so wonderfully for our team-mate Zoe.

We’ve decided to run as a team so we’ll be wearing our Buckley colours to represent the club and we’d like to invite you to join us.

Bon voyage

A group of girls from the advanced class are in Derry for the week with our friends at Twisters Gymnastics Club.

They will be there with a group from Italy and the girls are staying with host families.

Ceri and Mr Buckley are leading our group including Ffion, Elise, Lily, Amber, Bella, Amelia.

Good luck to the girls who have a busy week ahead with lots of time for fun in the evening which includes a movie night, a disco and party.

30 years of friendship

Walter and Stan exchange gifts

30 years ago Walter Connsoni replied to a letter from Stan to the Italian Federation asking for a contact in Italy.

That contact has proved to be a forever friendship between Stan and Walter, with frequent visits to and from Italy with gymnasts and coaches.

Walter went on to become the Italian National Coach but never forgot his friends in Buckley and still maintains his visits to run clinics for us.

Walter is now based in Switzerland running gymnastics in Lugano and in May Stan, Diane, Joy Barton (former chairperson and ballet teacher) and former Buckley International gymnast Lisa Gannon (nee Barton) were invited over to celebrate 30 years of gymnastics and friendship.

Hospitality was provided by Walter and wife Sylvia and the four days were rounded off with a spectacular gymnastic event to celebrate 100 years of gymnastics in Lugano.
