Buckley Girls’ Gymnastics Club relies on its volunteers and among those are the young leaders.

These are gymnasts past and present who give up some of their time to support the development of our members.

They take part in a course which equips them with the skills to help gymnasts in their training.

The courses are run at the club over six hours, teaching basic coaching skills and health and safety awareness involving equipment as well as the safety of gymnasts.

Current qualified young leaders include Hollie, Jess, Megan, Lily and Maddie all aged between 13 and 16.

Healthy profit from cakes

cake-sale2 The Saturday cake sale organised by members of the advanced class earlier this month raised over £110 towards our new gym appeal.

Thanks to everyone who donated cakes and the parents who staffed the stall.

Watch out for the chance to buy more cakes as it is due to become a regular feature as it is proving popular.

‘Easyfundraising’ update: £906 and counting

We now have 63 members helping us to raise money without it costing them any money or time by simply using our easyfundraising link when making purchases online.

PS. We’ll be launching our £25,000 fundraising appeal in the local press this coming week, telling everyone about our plans to open our own facilities.
